Every Knothön™ Nest is engineered with precision and handcrafted in Barcelona using certified, high-quality European materials selected for safety, breathability, durability, and structural integrity.
All components comply with European Union regulations and are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified. Textiles are breathable, hypoallergenic, and free from harmful substances.
1. Mattress Core & Base Structure
At the heart of the Knothön™ Nest lies a structured mattress base designed to provide firm support without memory effect, promoting stable positioning and even weight distribution during supervised rest.
The design has been reviewed and approved by a pediatrician specializing in infant sleep.
Core Composition:
HR Cloud core (23 kg/m³) with Visco Innogel® top layer
Firmness: Hard–Firm (structured support with moderated surface comfort)
Total Height: 8 cm
The firm mattress, with its HR Cloud core (23 kg/m³) and Visco Innogel® top layer, offers adequate internal firmness, moderate surface comfort, and good ventilation through the Airtex mesh. Proper firmness is essential for safe sleep and maintaining airway alignment.
Integrated Airtex mesh enhances ventilation and promotes continuous airflow.
This construction provides:

• Even weight distribution
• No sinking or memory compression
• Long-term shape retention
The mattress base includes a discreet zipper, allowing the six-layer textile system to be removed for washing.
2. Six-Layer Textile System
The removable mattress cover is constructed using six engineered fabric layers:
• 3 layers of smooth upholstery fabric for structure and durability
• 2 layers of Boatherm Soft padding for cushioning
• 1 final layer of thermoregulating fabric (Bamboo Blend or 100% Cotton)
This layered construction supports:
• Breathability
• Temperature balance
• Surface comfort
• Structural resilience
3. Hand-Woven Protective Barrier
Surrounding the mattress is a 100% cotton tubular protective barrier, developed exclusively for Knothön™ and handcrafted in Barcelona.
The barrier is filled with breathable, hypoallergenic fiber certified under European Union standards.
Between the mattress base and the braided barrier, multiple integrated openings function as air chambers, supporting continuous airflow and circulation.
The double-braided structure is secured with a natural wooden clasp engraved with the Knothön™ isotype.
4. Signature Braided Bumper
The braided bumper is constructed from a single seamless cotton-filled tube, woven into a four-strand braid and finished with one continuous seam.
This refined construction:
• Enhances structural durability
• Minimizes exposed stitching
• Supports washability
• Protects delicate skin and nails
The bumper is detachable and may be repurposed for crib use.
5. Precision Fastening System
The mattress base and protective barrier are connected using specially designed fastening straps that ensure a secure and stable fit.
The exclusive design allows for quick, precise assembly while maintaining structural integrity.
Each Nest is delivered fully assembled, accompanied by a protective canvas fabric bag for storage and transport.
The Knothön™ isotype is embroidered on the mattress base, featured on the fabric bag and protective barrier, and engraved on the wooden clasp.
